Better confounded than cocksure
I wrote, rewrote and then revised what I wanted to write about in this post. I have a feeling of not being able to relate…that is true!!! I do feel disconnected to the mainstream ideologies. I feel a part of a small niche, who knows how to stand up for what they believe in. No matter how strongly they are opposed. I have found a small piece of heaven for myself to ensconced. I believe, everyone has there moments of doubts even the most cockiest insolent person would think on an alone Sunday evening was he right? Does he really believes in what he’s preaching???
No doubt, that it is the age of clash of ideologies. New age vs. old??? New world vs. old? whatever the case, do we need to kill each other because we cannot think alike? Today when I was communicating my concerns to my Professor, he told me the most comforting thing.
I: Sir, I believe that people who are not able to connect with mainstreams ideas their life becomes an effort or a task to justify everything in life.
Dr. Kamal: I don’t agree with you. In fact, you have got it all wrong, Omar. People whose life become their work are more
appeased with what they have, of course, you have your moments of confusion while you are arriving to a conclusion but once you are there, people after centuries to come follow you.And he’s was right. I guess no one appreciated Russell, or Plato in their time. But today people cite them as a reference. Because at the end of day it is only you and your conscious, not the world that you have to justify.
